Eleanorism.

(Scene: Me wearing a daring, vaguely sexy outfit, very un-typical of my style, looking in the bathroom mirror.

Enter Eleanor.)

Me: Eleanor, do I look silly?

Eleanor:  Yes, you look silly.

Me: You really think so?  You don't like this?

Eleanor:  Mommy, that shirt is too small on your breasts.

Why is it that, after 5 years of breastfeeding and a million of lactivism, it creeps me out that Eleanor says breasts instead of boobs?

I think it's too much stuff going on lately with breast cancer, in the news and in my family. I hear "breasts" and I think cancer. I hear boobs and I think bulbous, life-sustaining, squishy places where babies can cuddle up.

Old habits die hard.
